Dear Mother,
I've always looked up to you. You are my hero! If it weren't for you, I wouldn't be here right now. If it weren't for you, the world would be in chaos. I don't know what I'd do without you.
I've barely handled a gun before. Can you teach me? All I know is to pull the trigger. The "sights" on it...I have no idea what you're talking about. All I know is that the butt of the gun makes a painful impact when you hit people with it. I've seen you do that a couple of times.
You tell me everything I need to know about relationships...especially with Peppin. I don't think you like Peppin all too much, but deep down in your heart somewhere, I know you're thinking he'll make a great son-in-law one day. I just know it!
In a couple years or so, I want to be a teacher like you. Not just a teacher of a subject at school, but a teacher in life. That's what you are to me. And I'm your student for life. You've taught me a lot of stuff, Mom. You've taught me to never let my guard down and when I get kicked down, I just forge right ahead. That's what you've taught me. You're also taught me a lot of fighting moves, which I think is cool! Besides that, I think there's more to life than just cool fighting moves.
I'm running out of words to say to you. Oh, I know what I was going to say now! Have you ever had fun with Dad? Um, not like fun...but have you ever took him out somewhere? I don't think family events count!
You've told me how you've met Dad. I like the part where he changed from being a vicious gang member to a humble, suitable man for you.
I feel bad for you, Mom, in part. Your childhood...you've told me every detail. I think I've cried a couple of times...do you remember that? I don't think I do! But your past made me feel so sorry for you and I'm glad you have a family that cares about you. That's one of the many reasons I love you.
I don't think you've told me about you are Mrs. Maddox. You two literally fought, like a fist fight? I bet that put a lot of burden on your life. But I'm glad that you two get along now, somewhat.
Overall, Mom, I think you're one of the most wonderful women I've ever had in my life. You risk my life for me (literally) and I wish I could have done the same for you...
Love your daughter,
Reyna
